MEET THE PEOPLE POWERING YOUR CONNECTION
Q: What is your role at Clearnetworx and how long have you worked for the company?
A: I joined Clearnetworx in June 2022 as a fiber-to-the-home installer. I really enjoyed that hands-on role, and it gave me a strong foundation for the work I do now as a Network Operations Engineer. Today, I help monitor the network, investigate issues, support our field teams, and coordinate with other departments to keep our communities connected. One thing I appreciate about Clearnetworx is the environment it has created for people to grow, along with the support to help them get there.
Q: What first sparked your interest in joining Clearnetworx and working on the network operations side of the company?
A: I was looking for a career that aligned with my long-term goals. I’ve always been interested in figuring out how technology works and solving problems that have a real impact. Starting as an installer let me see firsthand how our network serves customers, and that made me even more interested in the operations side.
Q: What part of monitoring and maintaining a fiber network might surprise people most?
A: People might be surprised by how much teamwork and communication happen behind the scenes. Monitoring the network is only part of it. We also help technicians in the field, investigate what’s causing an issue, and work across departments to get the right people and information together. A reliable connection depends on all of those pieces working well together.
Q: What does it mean to you knowing your work helps keep our communities connected?
A: Even though much of my work happens behind the scenes, it never goes unnoticed by me when a new customer joins our network. What’s even more rewarding is knowing they can count on a seamless, reliable connection afterward. As both an employee and someone who cares about the communities we serve, it’s a privilege to play a part in that experience.
Q: What does “A Better Internet Experience” mean to you from a network operations perspective?
A: As the sales team, we are often the first Clearnetworx face someone meets so it’s important to all of us that we create a good impression. One thing we really lean on is to treat the person at the door the way we would want someone to treat us or our mothers, grandparents or friends. It’s important to stay human and show care.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job as a NOC Engineer?
A: The team! I truly love our sales team and every person on it matters so much to me. They are all so genuine, kind, smart and caring. Getting to be a part of it is something I will always appreciate.
